join is an architecture studio founded by siblings Joanna and Jan Szybejko in 2023, based in Wrocław, Poland. We are connected not only by family ties but also by a shared passion for creating innovative, creative, and well-designed buildings and spaces. Our work is defined by a holistic approach to both the design and construction stages, built on close collaboration with our clients to best realize their vision. We strive to make the most of our knowledge and skills to create functional, sustainable, and beautiful projects that have a positive impact on their users and the environments in which they exist.

Joanna is a qualified architect whose approach to design has been shaped by studying and practicing across Poland, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. She is a registered architect in Poland (IARP, SARP) and a UK-qualified architect holding membership with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
She earned her degrees from Wrocław University of Science and Technology and studied at Malmö University in Sweden, before qualifying and obtaining her postgraduate degree from the Architectural Association (AA) School of Architecture in London in 2020.
Joanna spent the majority of her professional career at the major international multidisciplinary design studio BDP. There, she gained valuable experience as a project architect and interdisciplinary design team leader, with a primary focus on the educational sector—designing schools and universities—as well as the residential sector.
She is deeply passionate about the psychological impact of the built environment. Believing that the intersection of architecture and neuroscience is the future of design, she continuously explores how our spaces can actively support human health and well-being.
Beyond her daily practice, Joanna recently joined the RIBA Journal Editorial Panel and engages with the RIBA Europe chapter. Through these platforms, she looks forward to contributing to the vital conversations shaping the future and sustainability of the profession. In 2021, she was profiled in the Women in Architecture Exhibition by the Birmingham Architectural Association and RIBA West Midlands.

Jan is a qualified architect whose expertise integrates architectural design with direct, on-site execution. He is a registered architect in Poland and an active member of both the Polish Chamber of Architects (IARP) and the Association of Polish Architects (SARP), as well as a qualified site manager.
Delegate to the General Assembly of the Lower Silesian District Chamber of Architects (2026–2030 Term)
He earned his degrees from Wrocław University of Science and Technology in 2019, before officially obtaining his dual professional qualifications in architecture and site management in 2022.
Jan has spent the majority of his professional career at the interdisciplinary design and build practice ULTRANET in Wrocław. This environment allowed him to participate hands-on across the entire construction lifecycle. During this time, he gained valuable experience working on numerous high-profile office buildings, developing strong skills in managing complex proposals and navigating the practical realities of the building site.

Jan believes in a holistic approach that optimizes both design and execution. He is a highly BIM-oriented professional with a strong conviction in the transformative benefits that Building Information Modeling will bring to the industry's future.
Furthermore, he is highly passionate about innovative, sustainable building methods, with a particular focus on glue-free timber construction.
